AI Photos For Bumble, Hinge, Tinder

Thanks to the rising interest and usage of AI by people, it’s very likely that you have encountered people with AI-generated photos in dating profiles on Hinge, Bumble, or Tinder. Some of them are obvious and others not so much.

People are using AI dating photos in a variety of ways including:

  • Fixing blemishes

  • Placing them in different outfits/activities

  • Putting their heads on different bodies

  • Using them in group photos to increase height

  • Reducing mass (look skinnier)

Why Do People Use AI Photos In Dating Profiles?

People often use AI dating photos because they don’t like taking photos, don’t have friends to take photos or think that using AI dating photos is perfectly fine.

Some do it out of laziness, some do it because of insecurity, others do it out of curiosity. Regardless of the reasons, use of AI photos is on the rise and they are getting harder to detect.

How AI Enhances Your Dating Profile Pictures

Some people use AI to enhance dating profile photos in a few ways:

  • facial complexion (make people look younger, more appealing)

  • enhance their wardrobe

  • alter physical appearance (height, body size)

  • improve environmental attributes (lifestyle, location, hobbies)

These artificial enhancements are used by people to improve photos they don’t like, deceive people or to add photos to round out a profile.

In my opinion, these are super obvious and not enhancement but rather red flags people should avoid.

Should I Use AI-Generated Dating Photos? Are AI Dating Photos Ethical?

I don’t think people should use AI dating photos. I view AI-generated photos as no different than photoshopped images. In both cases, these are artificial photos that are used to mislead people about their appearance.

It’s one that to fix hair that is out of place or remove a temporary pimple but once people start to use AI to add hair, fix teeth, remove wrinkles or fix bags under eyes, they are creating illustrations that are no longer photographs in my opinion.

AI Generated Dating Profiles

In addition to using AI to enhance dating photos, people use AI to optimize their dating profiles by asking services like chatgpt to re-write bios, prompts, captions and more. While getting help and seeking feedback from others is good, it only makes sense if the advice is helpful, customized and reflects you.

In most cases, people can come off more interesting, but then fail down the road, harder, either when texting, setting up dates or meeting in person. There is nothing more defeating and humiliating than being told you are more boring in person than what your profile or texting suggested.
